The Child Saving Institute Guild
invites you to become a member!
Child Saving Institute is dedicated to the prevention, intervention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Through the efforts of many impassioned CSI Guild members, thousands of dollars have been raised through the years to benefit children and families throughout the Omaha metro area.
The Child Saving Institute Guild serves as a liaison to the community. Their primary responsibilities include:
Enhancing agency awareness
- Engaging in fundraising projects
- Recruiting volunteers
- Securing important financial support for the agency,
- Participating in other activities as requested by the Child Saving Institute Board of Directors
The Child Saving Institute Guild organizes these events throughout the year:
Golf Fore Kids An annual golf event featuring a foursome scramble and a two-person best ball. Volunteers are needed to help with registration and on the course.
PurseOnalities In 2008, the Guild initiated a scholarship program to support young people in their efforts to pursue higher education who were currently or had once been in an agency program. From this early endeavor, the Guild now presents two $2,500 scholarships a year. This popular event features a guest speaker addressing the topic of women in philanthropy and the true “power of the purse” when it comes to charitable giving. Most notably, it includes a silent auction featuring fabulous handbags and purse packages, resulting in great fun and great funds for the scholarship program. Volunteers are needed to assemble the purse packages, and to assist with the event set-up, event check-in, silent auction check-out and mailings.
Substitute Santa Volunteers solicit and deliver toys and gift cards to CSI so program directors and foster parents can “shop” for their respective kids. Volunteers are needed to inventory, organize and display donations.
Touch-A-Truck This free event is held in the fall and is open to the public. It features trucks, buses, emergency vehicles, race cars, heavy equipment—even helicopters! Each year more than 5,000 kids and their families attend this multi-ton extravaganza held just south of 69th & Pacific. Volunteers are needed the day of the event to assist vehicle drivers, to remove trash, to supervise bounce tents, and to be face-painters.
