Identifed Adoption
It’s possible that you have chosen another option for yourself, such as an international adoption, a private adoption through an attorney, the adoption of a relative, or you have simply been identified by a birth parent as a prospective adoptive family. In all these circumstances, you will need to have a home study completed for your family.
Below is a breakdown of the services available to you for the purposes of an Identified Adoption.
Home Study
Plan A
A member of Child Saving Institute’s trained adoption staff will come to your home to complete the home study process. All legal requirements for gathered information, background checks, references and time spent in the home will be met according to state and agency standards. With your written consent, original copies of your completed home study will be mailed to whomever you have chosen for your adoption services.
Plan B
For an additional fee, an adoption staff member will be available to you for counseling and supportive services throughout the adoption process. This can include: attorney and/or birth parent mediation, education about adoption issues for families and children, lending resources from our library of adoption videos and books, emergency response during the delivery and placement process, counseling as needed, and monthly support and training.
Post-Placement Visits - Nebraska state law and agency policy requires a minimum of three post-placement visits to your home, prior to the finalization of your adoption.
Pregnancy Counseling Services
If your family has been identified by a birth parent who is not already receiving services through another agency, CSI offers pregnancy counseling. More information on this program can be found under the Pregnancy Counseling program.
